Monday:: All the volunteers got to participate in the "Magic for Muggles" Harry Potter Workshop for crowd control. The key here is "workshop" as opposed to "magic show". One word for you: lame. The 'magician' made the kids laugh, which only makes up a little for not really being able to do the magic tricks. He was loony. He passed out all the material we needed for tricks, but only when he remembered. At one point, he's talking about tricks you can do with the magic wand, and told everyone to look at a certain place, etc. Everyone's looking at each other because he hadn't given us the wands yet! Mimicking the books, he states, "Wands away, everyone! Wands away!" at which point the kids all yell at him, "We don't have any wands!" He was really shocked.

Oy. I stayed until we got our ghost knots, then left...

I don't want to sound judgmental because even the simplest magic trick escapes me. I tried playing with the ghost knot, but I can't grasp the concept from the stupid directions. Me =/= hand/eye coordination.

That said, if you are claiming to be a magician, you need to be able to do the tricks. When you can't even move the wand so that it looks like rubber, fail. We used to do that in middle school with pencils......

It was amusing, however, to see a real-live Hermoine. Every time the magician referenced the Harry Potter books, her hand shot up. =3 I also saw a little girl (ok, around 10? 12?) that had hearing aids. Cool.

Tuesday:: Briana and I got to make a bus. Correction: Paint a bus. Big frigg'n bus on black cardboard. Do you know how hard it is to paint on black? Hard. The lady that wanted it actually told us we could use the backside, which was not-quite-plain brown cardboard. We would have, except they allowed little kids to scribble all over the board. The scribbles would have showed through the yellow, and who wants scribble as background? So, yellow bus on black it is. It still needs a few more coats of paint to look a solid yellow, but it isn't terrible... I mean, if you squint enough, it looks like a bus. ;P

Wednesday:: Wednesday was "create your own T-shirt day". So we got to go around and color over little kids' papers so the librarians could iron it on a shirt. The first table I sat down at, the little kids start playing with my hair. Which is hard when your hair is pulled back. I was all ready to pull away if they poked my ears, but they didn't; I was surprised. Sadly enough, I got famous with the little boys for drawing.....demons. I had to draw about seven of them. Sigh.

Thursday:: Doctor's appointment with my cardiologist, whom I haven't seen since I was 16/17. I only go once every two years, but the last year I was visited by her boss since they had an emergency. I love my cardiologist; she's so awesome and funny. I didn't get released though, which was disappointing. I'll go one last time in two years...It was quite funny when the poor nurse tried to take my blood pressure. The thing about having a coartation (spelling error) is you really can't get an accurate blood pressure reading afterwards. The first two times she did my arms, it was semi-alright. I was stupid enough to suggest taking it from the leg, which hurt like hecccckkkk. ;~; The machine started beeping, saying I should be dead. Lol. 201/115. NOT GOOD. Hahaha. She was freaking.

Note to self: Nevereverever suggest taking blood pressure reading from leg again. Never.
